While doing some surfing on the web, i found a few thread on various different forums regarding an application and screenshots of MSN Messenger. The websites forums where i found this info was Neowin.net, Mess.be & MsgHelp.net.

After reading the forums, and look at the screenshots, i personally don’t think it is an alpha build of MSN Messenger 8? Why do i say this? Well…firstly, the colour scheme in the screenshots seems to orange. To be it seems like to much of a big move to go from a Blue UI (user interface) to orange one. One thing did make me wonder if it was a leaked internal Beta was the screenshots of the "About" screen. This screen shot shows the exact version number. I then realised that this could easily have been made by anybody. Finally, the main thing that makes me think it is not the realy thing is the fact that someone noted that the filesize of the installer is only 5MB. This seems way to small, i would expect the installer of MSN Messenger 8 to be about double that, and possibly even bigger. Another strange thing about this "beta" is that people are claiming it is being distributed along with Microsoft Office 12 Beta. I’m struggling to see why Microsoft would release a beta version of MSN Messenger with a Beta of Microsoft Office.

So, if you find any pages/links to MSN Messenger 8, please be warned. It is not clear whether this is a legitimate LEAKED version or not. I recommend that you DO NOT download and install any file claiming to be MSN Messenger 8 unless you are a Beta tester. If you are a beta tester, the only place to download it from would be the Microsoft Connect website.

Remember, it is ILLEGAL to download and install Microsoft beta products unless you are a official, registered Beta tester of that particular product or it is made available on via Microsoft Update, or that particular applications official website. And if the file is available on the programs official website, it must be clearly available to anyone, if it is not, it is only available to official beta testers.
